Description

Now you probably already know this, but I love the Jurassic Franchise.
And because I'm such a fanboy, I'm super hyped for the next installment of this beloved franchise: Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom
So, to keep this hype-train rolling, I've decided to make files explaining the dinosaurs of Isla Nublar/Sorna, explaining how they behave, how much of their genetic code was altered by Ingen Scientists, and how they compare to their original counterparts.

One thing to note- I'll also be adjusting them slightly, like adding little bits of feathers here or there.
(mainly because I find it difficult to draw dinosaur without at least some form of proto-feathers)

For the Fourteenth creature on our list, I've decided to showcase the most famous/popular of the JP assets...
called: "DINOSAUR-ASSET" FILES-10
Carnivore File-"The Tyrant King/Queen of Dinosaurs"

otherwise known as Tyrannosaurus Rex hammondi

Well, since Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is now less than half a year away, I'd thought that we'd celebrate it by showcase the dinosaur that everyone thinks of when they see Jurassic Park. Even to the point, that almost every logo on the films (with the exception of JP3) use the iconic image of its skeleton.

It has made an appearance in every installment, playing some big role, whether it simply is hunting the characters, or being the hero we all root for...

We fear and we love it!
I'm of course talking about...the one....the only....drum roll, please.....
THE MIGHTY TYRANNOSAURUS REX!

Seriously, ask anyone what their favorite dinosaur is, they'll most likely say T-rex. it is THAT awesomely iconic!
But before I talk about the creature itself (and the role it played), let me explain my opinion of how the JP T-Rex was portrayed...
Because when doing a showcase like this, you have to acknowledge the reasoning behind the design and what was known in paleontology back it was made...
(case in point, look at the raptor showcase-taliesaurus.deviantart.com/art…)

So what do I think of the JP Rex, given that it was 1993 when it was designed and that it was based on "Sue", I must say that apart from the lack of feathers (to which extent is still under debate), the position of the arms and a few tiny nick-picks that can be explained with gene-splicing, I must say that JP has a fairly accurate idea of T-rex.
Especially on their emphasis on the fact that IT IS NOT A MONSTER, but simply a wild animal!

For one, they Depict the creature as being an active predator capable of running up to 34 miles per hour, as having a bird-like behavior and capable of being great parents, even by dinosaur standards. Second, is that they don't really shrink-wrap the t-rex, instead they give it appropriate bulk and muscles that a predator of that size would possess.
And while we have no idea what the "original" T-rex sounded like, I'm one of the people that think it was capable of a sound like a "roar".

and if people try to point out that the JP rex had "movement-based vision", even the JP franchise points out that is just the case with a few certain t-rex individuals

anyways, enough with that, onto the showcase...

It is not surprising why people would easily associate the franchise with this majestic predator, so now that I've gotten my opinion out of the way, let's get to the lore.
The tyrannosaurs were first bred (like all their "first wave" dinosaurs) on the island of Isla Sorna in 1984 and were intended by John Hammond to be the star-attraction of Jurassic Park, which was still under careful construction in San Deigo. But when the park was shifted to Isla Nublar, it was far easier to transport the deadly predators to the island, but since they were so tricky for the keepers to manage, only one T-rex was transported, and the other 23 were left on Isla Sorna. And after Hurricane Clarissa forced the humans to evacute, the surviving 19 began to breed in pair-bonds, each producing 5 to 8 eggs at a time. And as most of the other carnivore were either too small to compete, hunted different prey, died off or simply avoided the scent of a Rex, the Tyrannosaurs soon became the Apex predator of the Las Cinco Murtas.
And after a "retrieval" trip that resulted in the infamous "San-Diego incident", where a male t-rex (referred to as the "Buck") that was high on tranq-drugs, had rampaged around the city of San-Diego and caused lost of property damage/casualties, Isla Sorna was made into a restricted wildlife preserve.

To this day, the tyrants of Isla Sorna continue to dominate the island, the only real competition they face are from dinosaurs like acrocathosaurus, suchomimmus, allosaurs and one solitary mutant-strain of Spinosaurus that prowls the tropical regions of the northern swamps.
that is the current status on the Tyrannosaurs of Isla Sorna, but as we all know, that is not where the story ends, because what happened to the one Rex that was successfully transported to Isla Nublar?

That Tyrannosaur grew up into perhaps the MOST AWESOME T-REX THAT HAS EVER LIVED, her name (given by the jp community) is REXY!
The Queen of the island that has seen the fall of Jurassic Park in 1993, and the fall of Jurassic World in 2015, and defeated the Indominus Rex and has reined a whopping 25 years on Isla Nublar as it's apex predator! But Now her kingdom is under threat because of the super-volcano: Mount-Sibo is soon to erupt and when it does, her kingdom will come to a downfall...
So the survival of her kingdom hangs in the balance of a few humans...

(I hope you lot like this and if you have any ideas for the next asset file, I would appreciate it)

Update June 2018-there have been rumors that the queen of nublar has been saved and recenty an incident happened at a california zoo where she was spotted hallgeing a lion.
