Dinosaur asset files-edmontosaurus (variant 2)

Description

Now you probably already know this, but I love the Jurassic Franchise.
And because I'm such a fanboy, I'm super hyped for the next installment of this beloved franchise: Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom
So, to keep this hype-train rolling, I've decided to make files explaining the dinosaurs of Isla Nublar/Sorna, explaining how they behave, how much of their genetic code was altered by Ingen Scientists, and how they compare to their original counterparts.
One thing to note- I'll also be adjusting them slightly, like adding little bits of feathers here or there.
(mainly because I find it difficult to draw dinosaur without at least some form of proto-feathers)

For the thirty-sixth creature on our list, I've decided to showcase another second variant this one being one you all know from a certain game…

called: "DINOSAUR-ASSET" FILES-21.2
Herbivore file File- “Masrani’s Regal horse"

otherwise known as "Edmontosaurus regalia masranii"

Now for this showcase i decided to make, i showcase the second variant of an asset you lot probably remember from my 33rd asset file post. But unlike the first variant, this asset, have being done from scratch, is rather like the micorceratus in that apart from a lack of speculated integument (note- I said SPECULATED) possibly the colours (depending on the environment that it’s ancestor came from) and any TINY nitpick details (that certain people love to pick out) it’s actually not that far off from what it’s prehistoric equivalent was like…

I give you, the second variant of Edmontosaurus from both Jurassic World and the game Jurassic World: Evolution

Now the reason why this showcase took so long to talk about was partially down to it having a pretty big LACK of genetic faults (at least, when compared to the other residents of the park) I mean, as long as you discount the colour scheme (and certain radical speculations) you could put them side by side with what is our current understanding of Edmontosaurus Reglis and you’d have a VERY hard time telling the difference. And it because of this “closeness”, many scientists and dino-geeks across the world (and the internet ;) ) have praised masrani for being able to make such an ACHIEVEMENT using their high-tech gene-sequencing machine, aptly named: the HAMMOND-XB20, able to sequence the genome of an extinct creature in under an hour. And it was believed that Masrani could maybe suggest ingen to try making such accuracy in their other assets, but that wouldn’t come to be, especially when the 2015 incident happened.

But before we talk about what happened during and after their time at the park, I think it’s important to address the fact that although it is fairly “accurate” to our current view on Edmontosaurus, there’s NO way of saying that it is 100% the same as it’s ancestor (in fact I’m certain there’s a large differing feature that i cannot think of) and that, just like the Nublar-raptors of the first film, it’ll likely be seen as somewhat inaccurate in the future, after all, in the original novel, there’s actually a quote that puts it perfectly…

“We haven’t brought back the past, we have merely reconstructed it”

But now that is out of the way, it’s time address where I think it fits into the lore… First thing to note is that given it’s “appearance” it is one of the more recent additions to the park, you see when was “recreating’ this asset that had to start from scratch instead using the genome of an living asset they already got (this was mainly because the first variant of this asset had died out on sorna, leaving pretty much no strap of living DNA-specimens) and that the genome of this asset was likely sequenced using the recently invented “HAMMOND-XB20” a marvellous machine programmed to sequence any extinct GENOME in UNDER AN HOUR, (and fondly named after the man that started it all).

the Second thing to talk about is that during the time that it was a resident of the park, it was mainly featured in both the Cretaceous Cruise and the Gyrosphere valley, because of their docile nature and social complacency with the many other herbivores. In fact, the bright colors made it such an appealing attraction that during such special events like Valentine's day, Couples would drive to the far right-side of the island, where these peaceful hadrosaurs seem to congregate, just to be in their company…

The last thing to note is that sadly, much like it's earlier cousin, this asset has now fallen back into extinction.
Except, unlike the first variant, this asset's extinction was not caused by lack if initial population (in fact they were all over Nublar in the aftermath)
But instead, it was more caused by a mix of THREE major factors.
such as:
-too little island-space (isla nublar is far SMALLER than isla sorna)
-Overcompetion from the MANY other herbivores
-overpredation (because, compared to the other herbivores, it was so easy to hunt, especially as they took much longer to adapt out of their domesticated lifestyle)

EDIT 1- adjusted the name.
EDIT 2- adjusted the height.

wouldnt the edmontosaurus be able to defend them selves from the smaller predators? the only real threat i see is the trex
