Description
During My birthday, I got a cast of a Sabre-toothed Cat skull, so I decided to reconstruct what it was like in life.
This is technically my first attempt at drawing a big-cat....
...so be honest and Tell me what you lot think....
Name-Smilodon Populator (nicknamed- Sabre toothed cat)
Size- almost 2 metres tall and 2.3 metres long habitat- North America (cold plains) and South America (warm savannah)
Time period- 3 million years ago- 5 thousand years ago
First Described by- Peter Wilhelm Lund in the year 1842
Info-Smilodon populator was one of the biggest and most powerful cats of all time. It was an effective hunter, possessing a massive chest and front legs, not mention the gigantic teeth it is known for. Sadly, they died out because of humans and a general lack of its specific prey, which was large slow mammals.
